High Accuracy Navigation under Scintillation Conditions

  • Duration: 2018-2021
  • Funding: H2020-EU.1.3.2.
  • Short Description: The main goal of NAVSCIN is to develop an improved strategy to mitigate scintillation – a particular type of space weather perturbation-tailored for satellite-based navigation techniques, in close collaboration with users and manufacturers of these technologies.

Research and Development of Realtime Positioning System for "cm-level of accuracy" Demanding Applications

  • Duration: 2013-2015
  • Funding: National R&D Program on Aerospace Technology
  • Short Description: The aim the project is: to develop a complete precise positioning system, including: receivers, NTRIP system for broadcasting correction data, for applications which require positioning accuracy at cm-level and realtime.

WARTK test in Vietnam for enabling precise positioning for land-sliding applications

  • Short Description: The aim of the experiment is to actually test the possibility of building an WARTK network in Vietnam (and possibly the South East Asia Region) is proposed for next year 2013 in which the solar activity influencing the ionosphere should be close a maximum. This would allow to test the algorithms in the hardest scenario.

Research and Development of Tight and Ultra-tight GPS / INS integrations in Software-Defined Radio GPS receiver

  • Duration: 2013-2014

  • Short Description: The objective of the project is to develop the GPS/INS integration module for the NAVIS's software receivers. The tight and ultra-tight integration approaches are in consideration since they promise the good performance and also utilize the advantages of the software receiver.

  • Short Description: GINESTRA is a competence survey funded by the European Space Agency (ESA) in the frame of the Alcantara initiative of the General Studies Programme. Its goal is to assess the current capabilities on ionospheric monitoring in the Asia-Pacific Region and in India, in order to understand how existing facilities can be integrated with new installations to effectively support and improve space weather activities oriented to assist GNSS operations.

GNSS Receiver and Antenna Installation and Operation in Vietnam

  • Short description: The objective of the project is to develop the centre in all of its activities (i.e. research, awareness, dissemination, training and networking activities). As for the research activities, there are 3 research lines including (i) precise positioning; (ii) multi-GNSS receivers; and (iii) Intelligent Transport System (ITS).

Navigation Research at Hanoi

  • Short description: The objective of the project is to jointly conduct research and training activities between UNSW and HUST. In the framework of the project, there is one workshop organized at NAVIS and several scholarships for HUST staffs and students to do research at UNSW.

JAXA’s Hosting sites for Multi-GNSS Monitoring Network (MGM-net)

  • Duration: from 2012;
  • Partner: Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA);
  • Funding: JAXA and HUST;
  • Short description: Through this project, NAVIS is going to host one of the first 20 sites (the core of MGM-net) in the Asian Pacific region. The objective of the project is (i) to set up a monitoring site belonging to the JAXA's Multi-GNSS Monitoring Network (MGM-net), which aims to improve Precise Orbit Determination (POD) accuracy for the Quasi Zenith Satellite System (QZSS), the Japanese Satellite Based Augmentation System for GPS; and (ii) to extend current POD function for GPS/QZSS to also include multiple GNSS constellations, and to generate error correction and integrity information which can be broadcast from QZSS to support the multi-GNSS demonstration campaign.

Research and Development of Multi-GNSS Software Receiver

  • Short description: The project aims to develop the first fully software receiver working with multiple Global Navigation Satellite Systems in Vietnam.

Motorbike Tracking System for Hanoi Police, Vietnam

Design and Optimization of Conformal Multi-Band Antenna for Integrated GPS/Galileo Receivers

Duration: 2011

Funding: Internal Fund of Hanoi University of Science and Technology

Short description: The objectives of the project are (i) to use Ansoft’s commercial tool for designing and optimizing conformal multi-band antenna models that can be used for mobile compact GPS/Galileo receivers (the antenna models are expected to operate well with L1 and L2 of GPS, as well as E1 and E5 of Galileo frequency bands); and (ii) to fabricate and measure radiation properties of the antennas to verify the simulation results.

Research and Development of Assisted-GNSS Receiver via Internet

Duration: 2011

Funding: Internal Fund of Hanoi University of Science and Technology

Short description: The objectives of the project are (i) to acquire and process positioning data from high precise receiver for providing support to conventional receiver; and (ii) to transfer supporting data from server to mobile handhelds via internet.

Short description: The main objective of the project is the definition of an implementation plan for a European GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) Collaboration Center (Navis Centre) in support of educational, commercial and technical needs in South-East Asia.
