On March 12, 2013, the delegation of Politecnico di Torino (Italia) led by the Rector Prof. Marco Gilli has visited Hanoi University of Science and Technology and NAVIS. The Politecnido di Torino was established in 1859, since then the University has been ranked as the No. 1 and Top 10 technical university in Italia and Europe respectively. Politecnico di Torino (Polito) and Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST) has a long time partnership for more than a decade. Through the fruitful cooperation activities between the two universities in the framework of EU-FP7 projects since 2004, the NAVIS Centre was established in 2010 and was upgraded to the "international joint research centre" model supported directly by the Polito and the HUST in December 2012. Following this model, the NAVIS Centre has the co-director policy with Prof. Gustavo Belforte (Polito) and Dr. Ta Hai Tung (HUST) being the international co-director and Vietnamese director of the Centre respectively.

After a year in the new management, NAVIS has had several important achievements in scientific/technological activities as well as in international cooperations.

To strengthen the cooperation, during the visit, the two universities have signed the MOU on double degree PhD programs to pave the way for young researchers and students of HUST and Polito to join the high quality PhD programs with the possibility of obtaining the degrees of both universities.

After the signing ceremony, the delegation visited NAVIS and was impressed by the preliminary results of the researchers and students of NAVIS.
